The deputy chief of the Banten regional police command, Senior Commissioner Nandang Jumantara, said here on Monday the witnesses being questioned included local villagers, police members and 10 Ahmadiyah followers.
"Until sunday 64 have been questioned and four suspects arrested while another suspect is still being chased," he said after attending the visit of House Commission VIII members at the governor`s office.
He said until Sunday the police had named five suspects known by their initials as UJ, EN, YS, MU and MH which is not still at large.
He said the police still continued interrogating the witnesses including the one known as a local leader of certain organization in Pandeglang.
"The leader of the organization will probably be questioned today," he said.
He said the suspects that had been detained had had certain roles to play including mobilizing the mass that led to a clash leaving three people dead.
He said the number of the suspects could increase if in the development of investigation sufficient evidence was found including from Ahmadiyah.
"There are also witnesses from Ahmadiyah who are questioned in Jakarta including two that had been wounded and treated in Jakarta," he said.
Seven members of House Commission VIII visited the scene of the clash in Peandeuy hamlet in Umbulan village in Cikeusik.(*)
