Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Industry Minister MS Hidayat has offered Japanese companies cooperation to develop infrastructure facilities in the country`s six economic corridors.

The minister offered the cooperation during a meeting with Japanese businessmen grouped in the Japanese chamber of commerce (Keidanren) at his office on Monday, the ministry said in a press statement on Tuesday.

"We plan to develop infrastructures along Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang and Bekasi), ranging from Cikarang, Karawang to Banten so that we will have complete infrastructures," he said.

He said the ministry would discuss cooperation priorities with Keidanren to develop the infrastructures.

"We also promoted industrial clusters that need Japanese investment in the energy field," he said.

At a meeting with the Keidanren delegation, Vice President Boediono himself expressed hope that the Japanese companies would get involved in three key investment projects, including a power plant with a capacity of 2 x 1000 megawatts in Central Java, the minister said.

The construction of the power plant using super critical technology would cost an estimated US$3 billion, he said.

The other projects were Cengkareng-Manggarai railway tracks and clean water project in East Java, he said.

The construction of the railway tracks was expected to be started this year, he said. (*)
