The current presidential term is up to six years without any limit on the number of terms, which gave former President Hosni Mubarak the right to stay in office for 30 years.
The committee suggested the president should not be younger than 40 years old and should be Egyptian who does not hold any other nationality.
According to the committee, the constitutional amendments will be put to a national referendum before the parliamentary and presidential elections, which the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces promised to hold within six months. (*)
