One of the ill-fated houses, owned by a local resident named Jumali,58, was buried by the landslide materials, ANTARA News learned here Tuesday.
An access road connecting Tegalrejo and Tegalsari hamlets in Cepogo village got paralyzed after being buried by 10-meter-long landslide materials.
Despite the disrupted flows of people and vehicles as a result of blockaded road, and the damaged houses, there was no fatality in the natural disaster.
However, Jumali found his house seriously damaged in its kitchen but he felt lucky because he, his wife and his two children were all safe.
He said the landslide occurred after heavy rain showered his village`s areas.
About the impacts of paralyzed access road, Cepogo subdistrict police chief Ajunct Commissioner Bambang Rusito said the villagers should take farther way to reach their destinations.
A group of policemen and servicemen worked together to make an emergency path for walkers but it could not be passed by motorcycles and cars, he said.
"However, there is no fatality in this natural disaster," he said.
In Surodadi village, Boyolali Kota subdistrict, Boyolali district, two houses got damaged by the landslide.
Over the past year, Indonesia has been undergoing an extreme weather phenomenon, which partly characterizes with heavy rains and whirlwinds.
As the consequences of the torrential rains and whirlwinds, various vulnerable parts of the country have experienced flash floods and landslides.
On December 28, 2010, a landslide, for instance, ripped off the front porch of a house taking it along down the slope of a five-meter hill following heavy rain in the Gua Maria cave area in Delik village, Semarang, Central Java.
In January 2011, the extreme weather conditions that had triggered high waves in the Sunda Strait had even caused several hundred trucks stranded in Banten province over the past few days.
In February, a landslide had also hit Kopi village and neighboring areas of Bulango Utara subdistrict, Bone Bolango district, Gorontalo province, disrupting the flows of vehicles and residents.
