Jakarta (ANTARA News) - An American jazz musician, George Benson, enchanted his fans at the seventh Java Jazz Festival (JJF) 2011 at JIExpo Kemayoran here Saturday evening.

In his little concert at JJF 2011, Benson sang songs popularized by Nathaniel Adam Cole, an American jazz pianist, who was also known as Nat King Cole.

"Tonight, I will dedicate all the songs I sing to one of my favorite idols, Nat King Cole. I`m sure all of you know him good," Benson said before singing one of Cole`s masterpieces, When I Fall in Love.

The audience was enchanted by the performance of the black American scat singer who began his career as a jazz guitarist.

Benson presented tens of songs, such as Mona Lisa, Smile, I`m Going to Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter, Lady Love Me, Just One of Those Things and Ramblin` Rose

Moreover, Benson also amazed the people who packed the hall with his guitar playing talent in the song of Nature Boy. People in the hall could not help but get up from their seats and move their bodies to the music played.

He also enticed all those present to sing together a song which was recorded for a biographical film of a world class American boxer Muhammad Ali, Greatest Love of All. The song was also popularized by American pop singer Whitney Houston.

Besides, he also sang the most well known song of him, Nothing`s Gonna Change My Love for You, which was recorded in 1984 in his debut album "20/20"

For closing the show, all the audiences were forced by him to move their bodies and clap their hands to following the beat of Give Me the Night song.

Benson performed in the series of the biggest jazz festival in Jakarta for two days, Saturday and Sunday (5/3). Java Jazz Festival 2011 is the seventh of Java Jazz Festival which was promoted by Java Festival Production. The three days music festival will be ended on Sunday (March 6). (*)
