Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Presidential special staff for international relations Teuku Faizasyah said that the main focus in the East Asia Summit (EAS) was also discussed when President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at his office received Australian Foreign Minister Kevin Ruud on Tuesday.

"President Yudhoyono and Rudd discussed Indonesian position as Asean chairman and the agenda to be discussed at the East Asia Summit," Teuku said.

He added that there was APEC forum to discuss economic matters but the issues related to regional politics and security could be discussed at East Asia Summit.

"According to President Yudhoyono, there was APEC for economic matter but for regional politics and security there should be East Asia forum," Teuku said.

East Asia Meeting is regularly conducted in conjunction with Asean Summit and the meeting with Asean dialog partners.

Present at East Asia Summit 2010 in Hanoi were the leaders of Asean countries, Japan`s Prime Minister Naoto Kan, Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao, South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, New Zealand Prime Minister John Key, and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Asked if President Yudhoyono and Kevin Rudd discussed Australian media report on Wikileaks, Teuku said, "No."
