"The achievement and management of security stability is inseparable from the impact of leadership in the region that could synergize all security resources in the regions."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - National Defense Forces (TNI) commander Admiral Agus Suhartono said the security situation in the country was relatively stable despite several conflicts that had happened in the capital and several regions.
"In macro-terms , security stability is being managed well although several issues still need to be addressed further," he said at a flag-raising ceremony here on Monday.
In his written address read by his intelligence assistant, Major General Tisna Komara, the TNI chief said small conflicts in the regions could be localized and curbed quickly so that they did not affect national conditions.
"The achievement and management of security stability is inseparable from the impact of leadership in the region that could synergize all security resources in the regions," he said.
Agus said in line with development of democracy in Indonesia things that hurt democracy still often occurred.
"Democracy, especially freedom of speech and the principle of equality, have often been implemented in ways that often run against the esssence of democracy itself," he said.
These, he said, are the bias in political ethics reflecting that there is no balance between freedom and responsibility.
Therfore, he called on all soldiers and TNI employees not to be reactive towards the issues that were developing and to remain focussed on their main task and to continue improving themselves.
