Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Samudera Indonesia (SMDR) cargo company has formed a crisis management team on the MV Sinar Kudus hijacked by Somali pirates in Aden Gulf, Arab Sea, in mid-April, 2011.

The company`s corporate secretary, Irvanto H Hutagaol, said here Thursday, that the company will solve all the company`s responsibilities.

Nevertheless the company`s main priority is the release of the 20 sailors of MV Sinar Kudus in the shortest possible time.

"The management has established a crisis management team since the incident occurred with the main task of handling, responding to and resolving the case," he said.

Irvanto said that the team also had to work optimally all the time and monitor and search for information related to the settlement of the case, including contacting the Sinar Kudus crew, there crew members who have experienced a similar incident, the authorities or the government and the international anti-piracy authorities, and the pirate`s representatives.

Besides the company has also tried to negotiate the safety of the crew.

"A deal is still being negotiated with all the relevant parties," he said.

"And the company also provides information on the condition to the owners of other cargo ships," he explained.

He said the incident did not affect the company`s operations.

On the loss that will be suffered by the company and the owners of the goods have yet to be disclosed, Irvanto said.
