According to reliable sources of the location of the fire only 240 kilometers from Banda Aceh the fire which hit the densely populated area broke out at 6.45 pm and put out only after eleven fire engines managed to control the flames.
One of the victims said the fire broke out after the a kerosene scove burst and the flames quickly spread to the wooden kitchen and spread to neighboring houses.
In the meantime only a few meters from the blown stove there was a gas cistern which caused the flames to spread, while the wind was also blowing strongly.
While nobody was really hurt in the fire, but material loss reached hundreds of millions of rupiah.
Security personnel had blocked all the roads leading to the site of the fire to prevent theft. (*)
