"We are involved directly to the Global Entrepreneur Program cooperation with the U.S. government to promote global entrepreneurship, in which Indonesia became one of the pilot countries," said Secretary General of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI), Ridwan Mustafa, in here on Wednesday.
U.S. has stated its commitment that through GEPI it will serve as an inspiration, facilitator, and catalyst for entrepreneurship in countries it has partnered, including Indonesia.
Ridwan hoped the program can be continued by next executives of HIPMI.
"We expect this program to increase the dissemination of the entrepreneurship spirit in Indonesia," he said.
Moreover, the percentage of entrepreneurs in Indonesia are still one tenth of the ideal level of 2 percent of the total population.
The GEPI will be held during May 2 to July 15, 2011 to net participants throughout Indonesia and to determine 100 finalists. It will also select 5 young Indonesian entrepreneurs who will become Entrepreneur ambassadors for HIPMI 2011.(*)
