Medan, N Sumatra (ANTARA News) - The patrol boat Hiu 010 of the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Ministry had been reported to catch six Vietnamese fishing boats when illegally fishing in the South China Sea on Wednesday.

Head of the Belawan Marine Resources and Fishery Control Station Mukhtar said here Wednesday that the six illegal Vietnamese fishing boats had been intercepted and caught for failure in showing their fishing permits from the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Ministry.

The six trawlers had been arrested in the South China Sea at coordinates 05`55"00 N - 108`03`00 E.

"Captain of HIU 010 Marthin reported to us that the six Vietnamese fishing boats are now being held at the Tarempa pier in Anambas regency, Riau Islands province, for further investigation," he said.

The Vietnamese boats are KM. KG1396, KM. KG 1594, KM. KG 1196, KM. KG 91991, KM. BV 5482 dan KM. BV 5487 with a total of 60 crew members. (H-NG/c/a014)
