Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Youth and Sports Minister Andi Mallarangeng was grilled as a witness by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) over alleged corruption in his office.

"I received the summons from KPK to come here as a witness," he said upon arrival at KPK here on Tuesday.

Earlier, KPK chief Busyro Muqoddas said Andi was expected to be able to clarify the status of the money mentioned by his secretary, Wafid Muharam, as a hedge fund.

KPK had arrested Wafid for allegedly receiving a bribe of Rp3.2 billion in the form of cheques by M El Idris, the marketing director of PT Duta Graha Indah, and Mindo Rosalina Manulang or Rosa, the former marketing director of PT Anak Negeri.

The bribe was allegedly given in connection with the bid for the Athletes House project in Jakabaring, Palembang, worth almost Rp200 billion.

The building is to be used to accommodate athletes from ASEAN countries participating in the Southe East Asian Games in November 2011.

The project still continues despite the allegations of corruption that have now developed to implicate legislators including former ruling Democrat Party general treasurer, M Nazaruddin.
