They see Indonesia as a good country and place to find business partners.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa said the holding of the World Economic Forum on East Asia (WEF-EA) in Indonesia indicated the country had become the target of global business makers to find business partners.

"They see Indonesia as a good country and place to find business partners," Hatta Rajasa said here on Wednesday.

He said many global-scale company leaders would gather in the WEF-EA in Jakarta on June 12- 13, 2011.

"They will express their views about global conditions, investment, trade, food security and others," he said.

He said East Asia is playing its role at the global level today. Business leaders were interested in the topics and would be beneficial to business leaders in Indonesia.

"We want to take advantage of the event which is very prestigious, which will be attended by approximately 600 participants," the coordinating minister said.

According to him, there are four sub-themes of discussions in the forum. Interactive discussions would take place in every sub-theme.

The main theme is aimed at giving a response to the new globalization. The sub-themes among others aim to discuss how to manage the global turmoil and climate change, geopolitical risks, the problem of unemployment, food security and energy, and others.

"The G20 said that it is important to seek a new architecture in the new global economic order. This what is referred to as the new globalization. It needs new architecture that would create balance and a strong sustainability group, which is called new globalism," he said.

In the meantime, local business players hope they can expand their networks and share experience with global counterparts through the annual forum.

"Leaders of global industries will gather here, as a local company intending to expand globally, we hope to take advantage of the forum to build wider networks," Shinta Widjaja, managing director of Sintesa Group, said.
