"It`s OK, but (DCA) should be formulated in detail, so that the agreement will not cause loss to (Indonesia)," Soeparno said following the transfer of duties from the Tanjungpinang main Naval base commander (Danlantamal) IV, Commodore Djoko Teguh Wahojo to Marine Col Darwanto here on Tuesday.
Soeparno said further that the DCA must be examined carefully, because if the DCA is approved, another country besides Singapore will also be able to join exercises in Indonesian waters.
"It is not good if (the DCA) remains unrevised," the Navy chief said.
The discussion on DCA is still halted and coordination will be conducted for further discussion, he said.
According to him, it is impossible to unite the DCA with the extradition agreement because it will be detrimental to Indonesia.
The maritime security situation in the Malacca waters, according the Navy chief is relatively safer, but the Navy keeps controlling routine security.(*)
