PT Glopac laid off at least 300 of its workers without severance pay for setting up and joining a labor union last April.
Indonesian Labor Union Movement (Gesburi) spokesman Ismail Sukandi said the company had also filed a Rp7.3 billion lawsuit against the movement for setting up the labor union.
He said the workers had brought the case to relevant agencies in Bekasi district for solution. However, they had received no reply yet.
The rally drew attention from other people at the building as some of the demonstrators shouted to voice their demand. Consequently, the parliament`s security guards expelled them from the building. (*)
