Launched by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on May 25, 2011, the MP3EI 2011-2025 was designed to support the national development planning.
"This is a strategic opportunity for the businessmen in Maluku to manage the local abundant natural resources with high economic value and great export market share," Governor Ralahalu said here on Thursday.
Ralahalu pointed out that Maluku has extensive marine biological resources, especially fishery product of 1.6 million tons per year but only 300 to 500 tons of which have been exploited.
Besides fishery product, the governor said the province has seaweed, lobsters, and pearls in abundance.
"The local businessmen have very strategic opportunity following the launch of MP3EI which was in line with the government program to make Maluku the national fish barn," the governor said.
He ensured that the short of funds frequently complained by the local businessmen would no longer a problem for them because the government has been ready to facilitate it with the offer of People`s Business Credit (KUR).
"So the collateral and requirements will no longer complicated because the government has facilitated it in a bid to encourage economic development by optimizing the management of natural resources management," Ralahalu said.
Therefore the Maluku governor motivated the businessmen in the province to take advantage of various facilities from the government to support the expansion of their business.
"It is no longer time for the businessmen in Maluku to fight for the `cake` of development with very limited amount and and value but try to become new conglomerates," the governor said.
President Yudhoyono on May 27 announced the implementation of MP3EI which had been discussed since 2010 for an even distribution of development in all regions across the country.
The head of state launched the master plan in Bali-Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan-Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua, Java II and Sumatra economic corridors.
