Lubuklinggau, S Sumatra (ANTARA News) - A package bomb exploded at a supermarket on Yos Sudarso street in Lubuklinggau, South Sumatra at 9.25 on Saturday morning.

From the explosion of the bomb whose sender remained unknown, Hindra Sumarjono, the owner of the supermarket, sustained severe burns on his stomach and has to undergo intensive treatment at Siti Aisyah Islamic Hospital in Lubuklinggau.

Lubuklinggau police spokesman Adjunct Senior Commissioner Takwil Ihsan said the bomb was low explosive and assembled into two large and small series.

Takwil said only the small series exploded but the large one did not.

"The police, assisted by bomb squad are still investigating into the incident, while the wounded victim has been rushed to Siti Aisyah hospital," Takwil said.

He said the 15x20 cm bomb exploded at the third floor of supermarket, not far from Lubuklinggau police office.

According to information from the field, the bomb was sent to Hindra Sumarjono, the owner of the supermarket, by an unidentified person from Jakarta at 5 on Friday evening.

The bomb was received by the supermarket security official and was put at information room on the third floor.

When Hindra was trying to open the package, the bob exploded. (*)
