Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Two earthquakes each measuring 6.5 and 5.3 on the Richter scale rocked Waren in Indonesia`s easternmost province of Papua on Sunday night.

The first quake which struck at 19.16 western Indonesian time was centered 53 km northeast of Waren at a depth of 132 km, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said in its official website.

The epicenter of the second quake which struck at 19.51 western Indonesian time was located 78 km southeast of Waren at a depth of 30 km, the agency said.

Both quakes did not have the potential to trigger a tsunami, it said.

There was no immediate report of casualties or material damage.(*)
