Semarang, Central Java (ANTARA News) - Twenty-five foreign ambassadors have been invited to the Soropadan Agro Expo 2011 at the Soropadan Agribusiness Terminal, Temanggung District, Central Java Province, on July 2, 2011.

"The ambassadors have been invited to attend the opening ceremony of Suropadan Agro Expo on July 2, 2011," Sriyadhi of the Central Java authorities said here Thursday.

The foreign ambassadors are among others from Asian, European, African and American nations.

They will also be requested to join a harvest of several horticultural commodities in Central Java.

The agricultural expo will be officially opened by the agriculture minister. The products to be displayed are also aimed for exports.

The commodities include melon, watermelon, turnips, collards, cabbage and chili, which are exported among other things to Singapore, Malaysia and Japan.

The expo themed "Strengthening the partnership with the business circle to develop access to global markets", will be held from July 2 to 5, 2011.

A dialog between Central Java Governor Bibit Waluyo and local farmers will be organized on the sidelines of the expo.

The biennial expo is expected to attract at least 30,000 visitors and business transactions with estimated value at around Rp75 billion.
