SOPHIA ANTIPOLIS, France, July 4, 2011 (ANTARA/PRNewswire-AsiaNet) --
Until now, there has been no scientifically proven way to eliminate fat that was resistant to diet and exercise.

Bad dietary habits and modern sedentary lifestyles have converged to create a worldwide epidemic that is constantly increasing: obesity (BMI > 30).
One billion adults around the world and twenty-two million children under the age of 5 are overweight.
Faced with this problem, LPG wanted to study the effect of LPG(R) mechano stimulation on fat cells to obtain proven results of the impact of Cellu M6(R) on localised areas of fat.
Overview of the Study:
Report: Excess fatty volume is particularly resistant to diet and exercise because fat cells are less able to eliminate fat (they have reduced lipolytic capabilities). This is due to the fact that their surface contains more alpha (anti-lipolysis) receptors than beta (pro-lipolysis) receptors, which do not respond well to hormone stimulation.
Methods: Prof. Max Lafontan (research director emeritus at INSERM Toulouse) used two highly sophisticated techniques:
Twelve before-and-after observations of twelve gynecoid, overweight (BMI > 25) females using new generation Cellu M6(R):
- The Microdialysis (implantation of a double probe) allowed researchers to study adipose tissue and lipolysis directly.
Only two research centres in the world use this technique: Dr Lafontan in Toulouse and Dr Arner in Sweden.
- The genomic (DNA chips) allowed researchers to directly study variations of gene expression after biopsy of adipose tissue.
Results Exceeding Expectations:
The study underscored the considerable functional impact of LPG(R) mechano stimulation on adipose tissue. Lipolytic response is increased by 70% after 12 sessions with Cellu M6(R).
The genomic study shows that there is no change in the fat cells.
First Worldwide Advance
Where diet and exercise have failed...
LPG(R) mechano stimulation is the missing link to eliminate localised fat [editor's note: in addition to a healthy diet and regular exercise].
This important discovery is a promising first step in treating resistant adipose deposits.
