Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Former national soccer team player Herry Kiswanto has deplored the dismissal of the national team`s chief coach, Alfred Riedl, and expressed concern the discharge will complicate the national team`s chances at the SEA Games.

"I have just heard about it (Riedl`s dismissal) from news reports on Friday morning, but I think there has been miscommunication in the case. But if it is true that Riedl has been dismissed, it will complicate the national team`s position in the near future," Herry said here on Friday.

Herry Kiswanto, a national libero in the 1970s, claimed not to interfere on the dismissal of reasons.

But from the sports technical point of view, he was worried Riedl`s replacement will not be easy to adapt because of the SEA Games preparations only had two months to go because in August there will be the Ramadan fasting holidays.

"I purely see it from the point of football. In this kind of tight times it would be difficult for the Indonesian national team to do their best in the SEA Games if the team is handled by a new coach," he added. (*)
