The President and First Lady received Martin Hatfull who came to the State Palace accompanied by his wife Phyliss.
The envoy whose full name is Martin Alan Hatfull had served in Indonesia since 2008. Before assuming his ambassadorial position in Jakarta, Hatfull was posted in Tokyo from 2003 to 2007.
Before serving in Tokyo, he worked in Rome as an economic and trade counsellor.
Earlier, at about 10 am on Wednesday, President Yudhoyono received the House of Representatives (DPR) leadership at the State Guest House where they had a closed-door meeting.
According to presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha, the meeting among other things discussed the bill on the Social Security Managing Agency (BPJS).
