Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Busryo Muqoddas, said KPK has decided to turn down the request of its spokesman, Johan Budi, to resign.

He said here on Tuesday there was no need for him to resign as his performance was good.

"His track record so far is clean and his performance is good," he said here on Tuesday.

Busyro said the decision to reject Johan`s request to resign from his current position as head of KPK public relations bureau was made in a meeting of KPK leadership.

Regarding Johan`s reason to resign to focus on his preparations for the selection test for KPK leadership Busryo said that it could still be done while remaining in the post.

On Johan`s plan to submit his resignation letter on Thursday Busryo said he would let Johan do it but the KPK leadership would give a reply also in a written form.

Johan is one of the 142 candidates that have passed selection and has also followed a written test at the ministry of justice to become a KPK leader.(*)
