"The national working meeting lasts fro two days (July 27-28) and is opened by the general chairperson," the party`s secretary general, Tjahyo Kumolo, said to ANTARA News.
PDIP has chosen July 27 for the congress to remember (the attack on PDI headquarters on July 27, 1996). The meeting is attended by 33 regional board chairpersons from across the country and is internal and limited in nature.
"It is held behind closed doors because it is meant for formulating strategies through scrutinization of internal and external dynamics," he said.
He said the meeting was also aimed at evaluating the results of the implementation of the recommendations made in the first and second national meetings.
PDIP chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri directly presided over the meeting.
"The general chairperson will give directives personnaly and recieve inputs from regional board chairpersons," he said.
He said all regional board chairpersons would be requested to tell about political, social, economic and social-defense dynamics in their respective regions in the meeting.
"They meanwhile would also receive deeper knowledge on four issues," he said.
The four issues are consolidation of Indonesian democracy including changes of political party and general elections laws, public opinions and positions towards political parties, the impact of constellation of global geo-political conditions on the country`s foreign policy and domestic politics and the development of political conditions in the country.
"We are trying to contribute significantly to the political dynamics and building a more civilized democracy," Tjahyo said.
