Padang, West Sumatra (ANTARA News) - The Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in Padang recently found 267 new hot spots on Sumatra island.

"The hot spots had been spotted across several provinces including Riau, Jambi, Bengkulu, West Sumatra and North Sumatra. The hot spots caused haze that cover some parts of Sumatra island," BMKG analyst Fitri said here on Tuesday.

She said around 75 percent of the hot spots were located in Riau province. Fitri predicted the number of hot spots would increase in the next three days considering the hot sun and dry weather.
