Bogor, West Java (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) is speeding up the construction of an Indonesian hospital in Gaza, Palestine, by having the work continue at night during the present holy fasting month of Ramadhan.

"Construction work on the hospital goes on from night to morning during the fasting month of Ramadhan 1432-H as the weather at night is very hot," Dr Sarbini Abdul Murad, chairman of the Indonesian MER-C`s presidium, told ANTARA News here on Sunday night.

However, construction projects being implemented by the local government and foreign Non Governmental Organizations (NGO)s had been halted for the duration of the fasting month due to the very hot weather in day time, Sarbini said, quoting the MER-C Gaza branch chairman Abdullah Onim.

According to Sarbini, the hospital molding activities were held after night prayers or about 11.00 pm upto 02.30 am local time (before having day-break meal).

After having day-break meal and early morning prayers, the construction workers resume work following the day-break meal until 09.00 am, and this was done every day, he said.

"We carry out the (night to morning activities of) Indonesian hospital building in effort to complete the hospital building as scheduled," he said.

"Thus, we express our gratitude to the Indonesian people who have supported the hospital building so far. We also hope the financial assistance and prayers of all Indonesian people to expedite the hospital building," he said.
