"I think we have to be thankful because when he has returned in the country then the legal process can begin," Anas Urbaningrum said here on Thursday.
He said that a fair, objective and transparent legal process should be held for Nazaruddin because only with that process all things could be explained correctly.
Asked on the membership status of Nazaruddin in the PD, Anas said that his membership had been revoked.
The Ethics Council of the House of Representatives (DPR) said it had not yet received a letter on the revocation of Nazaruddin`s membership in the Democrat Party.
Asked whether the membership status of Nazaruddin had been put in floating status so that he would not reveal cases, Anas declined to reply.
Nazaruddin, who is also member of Commission VII energy, mineral resources, research and technology affairs of the DPR, is a graft suspect linked to the construction of a SEA Games athlete house in Palembang, South Sumatra.
He fled to Singapore a day before the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) asked the ministry of justice and human rights to issue a travel ban for him on May 24.
He had been to several countries before he was caught with his wife and several other people at 2 am local time in Cartagena, Colombia, on Monday.
