The flood began to affect a number of villages in the subdistricts of Mereubo, Pante Cereumen and Johan Pahlawan at 05.00 a.m. on Sunday.
The flood occurred due to the overflowing of rivers in the areas, said Irfan, a resident of Pante Cereumen subidsstrict, when contacted by an Antara correspondent in Meulaboh.
At Lapang village in Johan Pahlawan village, tens of houses were also flooded.
Local resident Hardi said the flood began to inundate the housing complex at the wee hours of Sunday. The flood water began to go up at 06.00 a.m.(*)
