Jakarta (ANTARA News) - One flight of Indonesian Air Force Sukhoi jet fighters will enliven the commemoration of the 66th anniversary of the Indonesian independence here on Wednesday (Aug 17).

In addition, one flight of F-16 Fighting Falcon jet fighters would also join the activity, the head of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) information service, Col. Azman Yunus said on Sunday.

The TNI AU jet fighters would conduct a cross flight above the State Palace when a ceremony marking the moment of the Indonesian independence proclamation would be held, he said.

He said commander of the Air Squadron 3 Lt. Col. Ian Fuadi would lead the cross flight attraction involving F-16s.

Meanwhile, commander of the Air Squadron 11 Lt. Col. M. Untung Suropati would lead the cross flight attraction involving Sukhoi jet fighters, he said.

The jet fighters have been stationed at the Halim Perdanakusuma military airport since Friday (Aug 13). Since then, they have conducted intensive training ahead of the commemoration of the Indonesian independence on Wednesday.
