Bogor, W.Java (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono spent the night at the Cipanas Presidential Palace, Monday night in the first day of the Ramadhan Safari to a number of cities in West and Central Java.

President Yudhoyono was scheduled to visit Ciawi, Cipanas, Nagreg, Tasikmalaya, Majenang, Purwokerto and Tegal from August 22 to 26, 2011.

On the first day, the President paid a visit to a Babakan Madang elementary school in Ciawi which was in dire need of repair and improvement.

At the location the President and the First Lady had a dialog with the teachers and head master before handing them a contribution of Rp50 million and books for the school`s library.

The Head of State made a commitment to repair and improve all the damaged schools throughout the country in the next three years.

The President than made an inspection of a bag making center in Tajur, Bogor, where he had a dialogue with the workers and visited the bag production center.

Before concluding the first day Ramadhan Safari by breaking the fast with the local residents at Masjid Biru in Ciawi, the President visited a Cattle Research Center in Bogor and had a dialogue with the researchers.

The President made a commitment to improve and promote the research facilities at the location. (*)
