"The ideas must come from the people," the President said.
Cilacap, C Java (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Thursday asked the people, particularly those of Cilacap district to always come up with ideas of developing micro small businesses to improve their living standard.

"The ideas must come from the people," the President said when visiting a fish fry market in Majenang subdistrict, Cilacap district, Central Java.

The President was here as part of his Ramadhan safari which earlier took him to a number of districts in West Java.

Micro businesses must be developed in such a way that they could create a great deal of jobs for the people, he said.

The President accompanied by First Lady Ani Yudhoyono said the government had committed itself to help develop various types of small businesses by among others providing them with financial assistance. However, the ideas of developing them must come from the people themselves, the President said.

The Majenang fish fry market was built on 1,278 square meters of land at a total cost of Rp84 million under the National Community Empowerment Program (PNPM).

Majenang village head Sunarto said that the village now had a number of fish farming groups. They raise various kinds of fresh water fish, including `gurame`, `nila`, `mas`, `lele`, `tawes` and `sepat`.

During his Ramadhan safari in Cilacap district, the President also inspected rice harvest in Sampang subdistrict.

On Thursday evening, the President broke the fast together with local farmers at Karangmangu soccer field, North Purwokerto subdistrict, Banyumas district.(*)
