"The educational institutions in Thailand, namely Prince of Songkhla University Phuket Campus, Phuket Vocational College, and Songkhla Vocational College in the hotel and tourism sectors," SEAMOLEC director Gatot Hari Priowirjanto said in Jakarta Thursday.
The cooperation in hotels and tourism covers apprenticeship, students exchanges, and online short courses.
Gatot Hari Priowirjanto said SEAMOLEC has a task of increasing the capacity of human resources, by facilitating the synergy of educational institutions.
"SEAMOLEC facilitates by remote studying for the sake of equality among the states," he said.
Gatot added that SEAMOLEC is currently cooperating in remote education (PJJ) with Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, and soon with India.
Chairman of STP Sahid Kusmayadi said SEAMOLEC teamed up with STP Sahid based on previous cooperation namely teaching vocational programs wih international standard SMK schools throughout Indonesia.
This program is carried out for accelerating the participation of higher education.
The program for apprenticeship and students exchanges between Prince of Songkhla University (PSU) and STP Sahid and the Bali state politechnique was started in tourism management covering front office and house keeping.
PSU will send 12 students to STP Sahid and PNB this year and the other way around. STP Sahid and PNB will send six students each to PSU Phuket Campus.
"All tuitition fees during the study at the respective partners are exempted as agreed on by the two sides. Each side will provide a dormitory for the students," he said.
The cooperation with Phuket Vocational College and Songkhla Vocational College is in food production and food service, he said.
Thailand also allowed an exchange in teachers. It is expected that D2 graduates at Phuket Vocational College wishing to continue their study (S1/D4) at STP Sahid will be possible under a credit transfer program. (*)
