During the three-day trip starting Wednesday, Kim will meet with Indonesian Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro for talks over expanding their defense ties and sign an agreement to form a committee overseeing bilateral defense industrial cooperation, the ministry said in a statement.
The tour can lead also to discussions over choosing Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, South Korea`s major shipbuilder, as a preferred bidder for Indonesia`s submarine acquisition project worth 1 billion U.S. dollars, according to local reports.
Representatives from nine South Korean companies including Daewoo will reportedly accompany Kim on the trip.
