Yudhoyono conveyed his congratulations during a state lunch reception with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung at the State Palace here on Wednesday.
"The reelection of His Excellency is a reflection of the Vietnamese people`s high trust and hope for His Excellency`s leadership so far," the president said.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in his remarks prayed for the health, welfare and prosperity of the Indonesian people.
The lunch reception was attended by all members of the Vietnamese prime minister`s delegation and Indonesian ministers.
Indonesia and Vietnam agreed here on Wednesday to increase their volume of trade to US$5 billion in value before 2015.
"The volume of trade between the two countries last year was valued at US$3.3 billion. We agreed to increase it to US$5 billion before 2015," President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said at a joint press conference with visiting Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung at the Merdeka Palace.
To meet the target, he said, the two countries agreed to push the two countries` trade and economic cooperation into a new stage.
The two countries were also committed to opening investment opportunities.
Vietnamese prime minister Nguyen Tan Dung who came to Indonesia upon the invitation of President Yudhoyono said that trade between the two countries would lead to a balanced cooperation.
The newly re-elected prime minister said he hoped the Indonesian government would help Vietnamese businessmen to invest in the country.
Indonesia and Vietnam have also agreed to cooperate in determining certain maritime corridors where both countries could conduct fishing operations.
"We will regulate where Vietnam and Indonesia can conduct fishing operations in corridors that we will determine," chief economic minister Hatta Rajasa said here on Wednesday after accompanying President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in a meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung at Merdeka Palace.
