Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police have arrested six people in connection with a bomb threat at a Garuda plane serving the Jakarta-Manado route on Wednesday.

"All the six culprits have been arrested on charges of sending a bomb threat by fax," National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Anton Bachrul Alam said on Thursday.

The bomb threat proved false after security personnel checked the plane, he said.

Chief of the Police Resort at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Adj. Snr. Comr. Reyhard Silitonga said on Wednesday the plane was declared safe after an anti-bomb squad found no bomb in it.

In the threat, the six people said a bomb would explode in 30 minutes after the plane landed.

Shortly after the plane landed, all the passengers were evacuated to terminal 2F and airport fire rescue at the airport, he said.(*)
