"The expansion to, to be exact, Seattle, is beyong expectations because the company`s initial target is in 2016," he said.
He said the development was surprising because it was the US company that has approached Pertamina to procure lubricants for industries.
"Besides quality the US company has chosen our products because Pertamina is considered more flexible," he said.
Pertamina, he said, immediately took the opportunity by exploring partnership to product lubricants in the US.
He said if the prospect was good it was not impossible for Pertamina to build a lubricant oil packaging plant in that country.
He said next year Pertamina also plans to expand to Indochina and China by acquiring a lubricant plant in Thailand.
The business strategy in China would be acquiring a local product, he said.
"In expanding business abroad we apply different strategies based upon efficiency and local culture considerations," he said.
So far lubricant oil products from the state-owned company have reached 19 countries in the world.
Pertamina`s lubricants sales rose by up to 127 percent from 2008 to September 2011, he said.
