Palembang, S Sumatra (ANTARA News) - A number of countries have registered themselves to participate in the Sriwijaya International Expo 2011 to be held here on November 11-22, 2011 coinciding with the SEA Games XXVI.

Finland, the Philippines, Malaysia and South Korea were among the countries to join the Expo, Eka Yanto of the Sriwijaya International Expo`s organizing committee said here on Thursday.

There will be 300 stands in the expo to be participated in by state-owned companies, regional administrations and foreign countries.

The Expo will particularly display products of small and medium scale business and is expected to promote the products for export.

SEA Games 2011 will be held in Palembang and Jakarta, from November 11 to 22, 2011s.

During the SEA Games, a total of 542 gold medals would be contested in 44 sport branches. In Palembang, the SEA Games would be held at the Jakabaring sports complex.

SEA Games will be participated in by thousands of athletes from eleven countries, namely Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Timor Leste, Vietnam and host Indonesia.(*)
