Rahmad had recruited several new players during the national training center (Pelatnas) program among others Yericho Christiantoko and Syamsir Alam.
The country`s under-23-years-old (U-23) national soccer team in the 26th South East Asian Games (SEA Games) was unexpectedly placed in group A together with the previous SEA Games champion, Malaysia.
In the toss-up which was conducted at the RCTI television station studio here on October 19, 2011, the teams which were set in group A comprised Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Cambodia.
Indonesia was scheduled to play Cambodia at the first game on November 7 this year.
"Cambodia as one of the contestants in the SEA Games
to me is the same and important," the coach said.
While group B consisted of Vietnam, Laos, Brunei Darussalam, Timor Leste, Myanmar and the Philippines.
Malaysia and Vietnam were the champion and runner-up respectively in the 2009 SEA Games.
The opening and closing ceremonies of the Sea Games were scheduled to be held in the Jakabaring sports stadium.
A total of 44 branches of sports will be competed in Jakarta and Palembang on November 11-22, 2011.
