Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta City government is to seal the office of Greenpeace on Jalan Kemang Utara, South Jakarta, on Monday on the ground the building was no longer being used according to its original purpose.

Head of the city`s building utilization supervision office, Agus Supriyono, said recently the building housing Greenpeace`s Jakarta offices was originally meant to serve as a residence but now Greenpeace was using it as an office.

He said his office had sent written admonitions to the international environmental non-governmental organization Greenpeace on Monday (Nov. 7) and on Wednesday (Nov.9).

The letters contained a clear warning that the Greenpeace office would be sealed on Monday (Nov.12) because the organization had violated a city regulation.

"Beginning Monday next week, Greenpeace should stop all its office activities because we are going to seal its building," Agus said.
