Nusa Dua, Bali (ANTARA News) - Foreign ministers of all ASEAN member states meet here on Tuesday as a preparation towards the 19th ASEAN Summit and the 6th East Asia Summit which will be held in Nusa Dua from Nov 17 to 20, 2011.

According to a press release from the ASEAN Summit`s media relations officer received here on Tuesday the ministers will discuss topics regarding ASEAN Community Development, ASEAN Charter Implementation, and ASEAN Common Visa Implementation for Non-ASEAN citizens.

The ministers will also discuss the establishment of ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation, Treaty of Amity and Cooperation and, Declaration of the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea/DOC and other regional and international issues of common concern of the regional association.

Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa will chair Tuesday`s meeting.

The ASEAN Summit and the Sixth East Asian Summit will be participated in by leaders of 18 countries consisting of 10 ASEAN member countries and eight dialog partners, namely China, Japan, India, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Russia.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) groups Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar.

Earlier, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said the ASEAN Summit in Bali to be held along with the ASEAN+3 and East Asia Summit would formulate concrete steps in responding to the global financial crisis that was also the main agendas of the G20 and APEC summits.

Speaking at a press conference after attending the APEC meeting, Yudhoyono said the summit of the leaders of economies grouped in the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation, discussed steps to create global financial stability and regulation reforms which had to be done to remove economic growth barriers.

"(So we have to discuss) how it could be implemented in Asia Pacific region level and what synergy and coordination have to be done in the APEC region or in countries in Asia and the United States," the president said.

The head of state said that the series of international meetings of G20, APEC and ASEAN Summit in Bali on November 17-19, 2011 were inter-related in an effort to seek the best solution to and implement efforts to overcome the global financial crisis.(*)
