Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police will question all parties linked to Saturday`s bridge collapse in Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan, to find out the cause of the disaster, a spokesman said.

"We will eventually question all the people involved. For the time being, our priority is searching for still missing victims," the head of the National Polices public relations division, Inspector General Saud Usman Nasution, said here on Monday.

He said the police would also question the district head. "Later we will also question the district head. It will be difficult (to know the cause of the incident) if we don`t know the chronology (of the incident)," he said.

"So, starting from the scene we will question those who saw the incident first and from there we will go further," he said.

He said the police still had no any idea about the cause of the incident, adding construction experts still had to conduct their own investigation.

"We cannot make predictions now. It must be scientifically studied. We are now still seeking general information on how it collapsed," he said.

The National Police Criminal Investigation Agency had sent a team of investigators to East Kalimantan in connection with the incident.

Eleven people have so far been questioned including from the public works office and several other offices including the search and rescue agency in an effort to know the cause of the incident.
