In his address at the Kompas 100 CEO Forum here on Monday he said the government had already prepared itself to meet the possibility of the crisis to affect the country.
"The government is ready to anticipate any eventuality. We hope it will be too serious but the possibility is there and therefore we have to be ready," he said.
He said not only the government but the business and the community as well as political quarters have to be ready to meet the impact of global economic volatility.
Boediono said Indonesia`s economy is now solid. However Indonesia must remain alert because any event anywhere in the world may affect other parts of the world due to current globalization.
"The situation in the world is full of uncertainties and the epicenters are in Europe and the US which are still facing problems. We must remember we live in a globalized community. (Therefore) we must remain alert towards what happens on other parts of the world," he said.
He said Indonesia had been able to pass through the crisis in 1998 and 2008 and this must be taken as a lesson for it to be more prepared to meet the impact of the current crisis.
He said Indonesia has quite much "ammunition" to deal with the crisis namely large foreign currency reserves and increasing economic growth.
"Be alert. The storms are still raging out there and may still affect us," he said.
Boediono said with regard to dealing with the crisis a deadlock in a quick and correct decision-making process must be avoided, adding a deadlock could cause the crisis to be protracted.
The vice president believed Asia would be the world`s future center of growth. In view of that he said Indonesia must position itself in the trend.
"I am convinced with the capital as well as natural and human resources that we have and also a stable democratic political life God willing we could put ourselves in the right position," he said.
