The first and second aircraft were delivered in May, 2011 while the fourth would be done in the first quarter of 2012.Bandung, West Java (ANTARA News) - PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI) delivered the third of four CN-235 aircraft ordered by Korean Coast Guard (KCG) at a cost of around US$94 million on Friday.
"The plane has undergone several tests before being flown to South Korea," the state-owned company`s director of aircraft integration, Budi Saleh, said to ANTARA News.
He said the delivery of the maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) showed that the trust in PTDI remained high.
"This must be maintained so that PTDI would get more contracts not only from South Korea but also from other customers who need CN-235 class aircraft," he said.
Budiman said the first and second aircraft were delivered in May, 2011 while the fourth would be done in the first quarter of 2012.
The CN-235 MPA KCG is completed with search radar, Flir, ESM, IFF interrogator, tactical navigation, tactical computer system, camera, bubble and window with double CT7-9C engines each having 1750 horse power (Shp).
Budiman said business restructuring in PTDI still continued to improve the company`s economic value.
Under the program PTDI continued developing and maintaining the CN-235 line, aircraft services and manufacturing services.
PTDI also continued seeking strategic partners for N250, NC-212, Helicopter and Engineering Services lines while the defense and security and advanced technology education center business lines are expected to be self-sustaining.
South Korea has since 1994 used two squadrons of CN-235 to strengthen its airforce.(*)
