Cucu said that the Jakarta regional government had received the copy of Prinato`s resignation letter he had submitted to the home affairs minister.
"The resignation letter is dated December 23, 2011, but he did not mention his specific reason why he reigned from his position as a deputy governor," Cucu said.
In a press statement released by the Jakarta regional government, Jakarta Govenor Fauzi Bowo deplored Prinanto`s resignation. Priyanto`s term of office will initially end in October 2012.
Yet, Fauzi Bowo said he respected Prijanto`s decision to resign and was convinced that the deputy governor had made the decision after careful considerations.
"I have to thank for his cooperation so far and hope we would continue to maintain the bond of friendship," Fauzi Bowo said.(*)
