"In connection with results of the BPK audit it is not the DPR that will decide whether they are true or not," he said at a discussion here on Tuesday.
Aburizal said the DPR had already asked the BPK to conduct a forensic audit on the Bank Century bailout.
Whatever the result of the audit, Aburizal said, the DPR must accept it. "The DPR cannot say whether it is right or wrong," he said.
He said, however, if the DPR was not yet satisfied with BPK`s work so far, it could ask for another audit.
He said it could ask to audit parts which the DPR was not yet satisfied about.
He said DPR however must not ask other institutions to conduct an audit on the same case and contrast its result with that of the BPK.
"This cannot be done because it would be very dangerous," he said.
He said the Bank Century case was not a matter of "political hostage taking" but it must be settled completely without leaving any problems. He said however the issue must be settled proportionately.
As the Bank Century case was a legal one, Aburizal suggested that it be settled by the law enforcement institutions.
"DPR has recommended its settlement by the KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission) but so far there had been no development in the KPK`s probe," he said.
Aburizal hoped the new KPK leadership could eventually settle the matter conclusively.
Deputy House Speaker Priyo Budi Santoso had expressed his disappointment over the results of the latest BPK forensic audit on the Bank Century bailout case.
"The BPK has presented its forensic audit but the results are far from satisfactory," he said on Friday (Dec 23).
Priyo said the results of the audit were not far from the ones the BPK had made before.
When presenting the audit results the BPK leadership said there were still issues worth following up.
"Based on the BPK leadership`s statement it means that the forensic audit of the BPK is not yet final and may still be followed up," he said.
Priyo said he hoped the Bank Century case monitoring committee would follow up the case.
BPK deputy chairman Hasan Bisri meanwhile said BPK had worked by itself in tracing accounts. He said based on BPK`s investigation it was found that a lot of funds had been used before the bailout.
"This is what caused the Bank Century bailout to swell because funds for transactions done before were also covered by the temporary capital participation program," he said.
