"DPR must make 2012 as a year of best performance," the House Speaker said here on Sunday.
He said that there was still 2.5 years time before the general elections in 2014, in which the House must accomplish all its tasks.
"We still have 2.5 years before the 2014 elections. In the previous years, our performance was low, while in 2013 political parties are expected to prepare themselves for elections. So, now is the year (2012), for us to work as well as possible," he said.
Therefore, the House must be able to improve its performance. It must take sides with the people in the field of budget. It must be more effective in the supervision field and it must achieve at least 80 percent of its target in the legislation field.
"Two years is enough for us to be criticized and scorned. Ahead, all must be better. The House must no longer be labeled as lazy, indiscipline, unethical and so forth, All must be better in 2012 so that the people would not be disappointed for having elected us," he said.
He also expressed confidence that DPR members would become more diligent, at least in attending the House activities.
