Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State-owned Bank Mandiri has raised its capital participation in its sharia unit PT Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM) by Rp300 billion or equal to 60 million shares worth Rp5,000 each.

With the injection of Rp300 billion in funds, the number of Bank Mandiri`s shares in BSM rose from 171.64 million to 231.64 million worth Rp1.15 trillion, Bank Mandiri Director Pahala Mansury said in a public expose at the Indonesia Stock Exchange here on Tuesday.

He said the fund injection served as an affiliation transaction based on the Capital Market and Financial Institutions Supervisory Board (Bapepam-LK)`s regulation on affiliation transactions and had secured approval from Bank Indonesia (the central bank).
