"We seized the contraband from PT Bejana Agung Wiratama gas cylinder workshop at Pantai Makmur village, Tarumajaya subdistrict, Bekasi district, at around 03.30 p.m.," chief of the Bekasi police resort chief Commissioner Wahyu Hadiningrat said.
Police were able to uncover the case following tip-offs from one of PT Bejana Agung Wiratama`s employees who was suspicious of the gas cylinder`s weight when he received the delivery of 200 gas cylinders from PT Eramina Kencana in Cakung, East Jakarta.
"The empty gas cylinder was supposed to be repainted at the workshop of PT Bejana Agung Wiratama. But the employee named Husdi was suspicious of the gas cylinder whose weight was different from those of other gas cylinders when he was about to drop it from mini truck Isuzu Elf with police number B 9319 SX," he said.
The gas cylinder weighed 26 kg while the other gas cylinders weighed only 15 kg. As a consequence, Rusdi asked for help from his colleague to check the gas cylinder, he said.
"When the gas cylinder`s valve was removed he found two bullets measuring 9 milimeters each," he said.
"Officers of the police precinct later passed on the gas cylinder to the Gegana bomb-defusing squad at the Jakarta metropolitan police. The gas cylinder was modified in such way to keep 11 FN guns and revolvers, 162 bullets and 225 grams of shabu-shabu worth Rp4 billion in its lower part," he said.(*)
