Kabul (ANTARA News/Xinhua-OANA) - The Afghan government has denounced the alleged abuse of two children by two British soldiers, a statement released by the Afghan Presidential Palace said here on Wednesday.

"The government of Afghanistan strongly denounces the " immoral" act by the British soldiers calling it a child abuse," the statement said.

Without naming any media outlets and the exact place of the incident, the statement said, "Media reports say that two British soldiers allegedly encouraged a boy and a girl, aged around ten to touch them and then filmed the action to show to other soldiers."

"The government of Afghanistan has been deeply disturbed by reports that two British soldiers have encouraged two Afghan children to touch them through their clothes," the statement added.

"The government of Afghanistan is immensely disgusted by the rise in recent incidents of immoral nature among foreign soldiers that clearly undermine public confidence and the Afghan people`s cooperation with foreign troops," the statement said.

In the statement the Afghan government asked the British government to launch an immediate probe into the report and apply necessary punishment to those involved in the act.

A0 couple of days ago the Afghan government condemned the reported desecration of three corpses of Taliban by a group of U.S. Marines and demanded punishment for the culprits.
