Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The national soccer team which was prepared to play Bahrain team on February 29 or last match in Group E of the Pre-World Cup 2014, will start exercises on Thursday (Feb. 16), the team organizer said.

The soccer team exercise or training center will take place in Malang, East Java, and led by the coach, Aji Santoso, according to Bernhard Limbong, the team organizer who is responsible for the team preparation said here this week.

The coach, Aji Santoso will notify the names of the team players prior to the training center, Limbong said.

According to Limbong, seven players were selected out of 30 by the coach and the coach assistant Liestiadi in the sports arena, Sentul in West Java, in a bid to complete other 12 players who have been prepared earlier.

The 12 players who have been appointed without further selection process are Irfan Bachdim, Syamsul Arif, Kurnia Meiga, Dendy Santoso, Gunawan Dwi Cahyo, Hendro Siswanto, Irfan Raditya, Ferdinan Sinaga, Abdul Rahman, Wahyu Wijiasnanto, Diego Michiels and Andik Vermansyah.

All the players are under 23 years of age (U-23) to replace the senior team which was trained by the senior coach, Wim Rijsbergen.

The senior team failed to get even a single point in group E matches.

In a tossup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Indonesian soccer team was put in Group E of the Pre-World Cup 2014 round along with Iran, Qatar and Bahrain.
